Job-Link Recruitment Services launch Nigeria’s first private job centre, open to the public in Ikoyi, Lagos with over 10 more satellite centres across the nation. The job centres act as crucial point from which jobseekers can speak with career counsellors and get connected with employers and job opportunities.
In partnership with Microsoft Philanthropies, Job-Link also holds free employability trainings for 100 jobseekers every month.
Job-Link Recruitment Services currently has a network of over 700,000 candidates and 500 companies who use its services regularly. Together with M.A.D Hospitality, the pair continue to break ground in service excellence training, research and recruitment within and beyond the hospitality sector.
Recently they also launched Nigeria’s first independent hotel ratings guide. One hundred hotels in Nigeria have been formally rated and given classifications ranging from 1 Star to 5 Stars. The list is compiled based on globally accepted rules of hotel classification and the results will be showcased on global and home-grown hotel booking sites.
To achieve this landmark moment in Nigerian hospitality, Job-Link set up a board of hoteliers with a collective hospitality and grading experience of over 100 years.
The board includes Mary Dinah, Founder and C.E.O of Job-Link, who holds a Masters Degree in International Hotel Management from the University of Surrey, UK and achieved a Distinction. She subsequently joined Marriott Hotels in London after which she became head of marketing for all Starwood Hotels in Nigeria.
Mary also held the position of Food and Beverage Representative for all Starwood Hotels in Africa and Indian Ocean. Also on the board is Nishita DevAnand, a graduate of the Swiss Hotel Management School and Joshua Fresco whose family has owned hotels in Hyde Park, London for over 100 years.
At a recent press briefing Dinah, said “Hospitality and Tourism have a big part to play in job creation and the Nigerian economy in general. It is time to make bold, forward steps in redefining hospitality in Nigeria, which has always been my passion and focus the past 15 years.”
Job-Link aims to raise the standard of hotel operations in Nigeria by highlighting the gaps in the service industry through its classification guide and advising hotels on how to improve their service culture and move up on their ratings. The guide is also critical for tourism as it informs foreigners on which hotels to book when visiting Nigeria.
